How it's calculated

  • eBooks: 70% of the list price minus any VAT/GST and a delivery fee per megabyte — KDP's own formula — if the price is inside the store's 70% band and at least 20% below any print edition. Otherwise 35%, with no delivery fee.
  • Paperbacks: 60% of the list price (50% below the store's threshold) minus the print cost. KDP won't let you price below the point where that would be negative.
  • The figures come from the same dated rules file the KDP Metric extension uses, checked against KDP's own help pages.
