These terms are a legal agreement between you and the operator of KDP Metric. By installing or using the KDP Metric browser extension or website ("KDP Metric", "the extension", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not install or use it.

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority where you live, and have the capacity to enter into a contract, to use KDP Metric.

What KDP Metric is

KDP Metric is an independent research tool that analyses publicly visible information on Amazon book pages you open, to help you research book niches. It is a single extension with a free tier and an optional paid Pro tier; Pro features are unlocked inside the same extension by activating a licence key. KDP Metric is an information and research aid only.

No guarantee of results

KDP Metric does not guarantee any outcome. We do not promise, represent or warrant that using KDP Metric will cause your book to rank higher, sell more copies, gain more reviews or visibility, earn any income, or achieve any other result. Publishing is competitive and depends on many factors outside our control, including your book, your marketing, Amazon, and the wider market. Any decision you make using KDP Metric is your own, and you are solely responsible for it.

Estimates are not guarantees

Sales, revenue, demand, "sales-to-rank" and similar figures are rough, modelled estimates derived from public best-seller-rank data. They can be inaccurate by a wide margin and are provided for relative comparison only. Grades, scores and verdicts are opinions generated by automated rules, not statements of fact.

Not professional advice

Nothing provided by KDP Metric is financial, investment, legal, tax, accounting or other professional advice, and it must not be relied on as such. You should seek independent professional advice where appropriate before making decisions.

AI features and third-party dependencies

Some optional features (such as "KDP Metric AI" / Category Scout) rely on artificial-intelligence capabilities built into your web browser and provided and controlled by a third party — for example, the on-device AI features supplied by Google as part of Google Chrome. These capabilities are not part of KDP Metric, are not operated by us, and are outside our control.

• Their availability depends on your device, your browser, its version and settings, and on the third-party provider continuing to offer the capability. We cannot guarantee that an AI feature will be available, will remain available, or will function correctly.
• The third-party provider may change, restrict, deprecate or remove these capabilities at any time, with or without notice. If that happens, the affected feature may stop working. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any such change or unavailability. Beyond the 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee below, no refund is due solely because a feature that depends on third-party software changes or becomes unavailable.
• AI-generated output may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable. It is generated on your device, is not reviewed by us, and must be treated as a starting point for your own judgement — not as advice or a guarantee.
• Your use of the browser's AI capability may also be subject to the browser provider's own terms and privacy policy, which are between you and that provider.

Pro licences & payments

KDP Metric Pro is sold as a one-time lifetime licence for the version you purchase. A Pro purchase includes:

• Lifetime use of the version of KDP Metric Pro you buy;
• 12 months of major feature updates;
• 12 months of email support;
• Ongoing compatibility fixes where reasonably possible.

After the included 12-month update and support period ends, the extension continues to work with no subscription. Future major upgrades, extended support, or new premium modules may be offered as a separate paid renewal or upgrade.

Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Polar, which handles the transaction and any applicable sales tax or VAT, under its own terms and privacy policy. Your Pro purchase provides a licence key that you activate in the extension; a single licence may be activated on a limited number of devices (currently up to three). Prices are shown in US dollars. We may change pricing for future purchases; a change does not affect a licence you have already bought.

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

We want you to feel confident trying KDP Metric Pro.

If you are not happy with KDP Metric Pro, you may request a refund within 14 calendar days of your original purchase by contacting support@kdpmetric.com using the email address used at checkout.

If your request is made within the 14-day period, we will refund the amount paid for KDP Metric Pro through our payment provider or Merchant of Record. Once a refund is issued, your Pro licence key will be deactivated and you must stop using Pro features.

This guarantee applies to your first purchase of KDP Metric Pro only.

We may refuse refund requests where we reasonably believe there has been fraud, abuse of the guarantee, repeated purchase-and-refund behaviour, breach of these Terms, or misuse of the software.

Nothing in this policy affects any statutory consumer rights you may have, including rights relating to faulty, misdescribed, or unavailable digital content.

Not affiliated with Amazon

KDP Metric is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries. "Amazon", "Kindle", "KDP" and related marks are the property of their respective owners. Your use of Amazon's website remains subject to Amazon's own terms; you are responsible for complying with them.

Other third-party services

KDP Metric interoperates with third-party services and software we do not control, including Amazon, your web browser and its AI capabilities, and Polar. We are not responsible for those third parties, their content, their availability, or any change they make. Your use of them is subject to their own terms.

Acceptable use

• Use KDP Metric for your own lawful book-research purposes.
• Do not use it to break Amazon's terms, any third party's terms, or any applicable law.
• Do not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or attempt to circumvent the licensing or any technical restriction of the extension, except to the limited extent the law expressly permits.
• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or abuse the optional data service or our infrastructure.
• You are solely responsible for the book titles, metadata, keywords and other content you create or publish; KDP Metric does not check it for legal compliance, accuracy, or fitness.

Intellectual property

KDP Metric, including its software, design and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the extension in accordance with these terms. No other rights are granted.

No warranty

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KDP Metric is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. Amazon and browser vendors change their software frequently, which may cause parts of KDP Metric to stop working until updated. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, error-free, or that any result or data will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for any other liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Subject to the paragraph above, and to the fullest extent permitted by law:

• we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, sales, goodwill, data, or anticipated savings, however arising, even if we have been advised of the possibility; and
• our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to KDP Metric, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for KDP Metric in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.

Because the free tier is provided at no charge, our liability to free-tier users is limited accordingly. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Your statutory rights

If you are a consumer, you have legal rights under the consumer-protection laws of your country (for example, in the UK, the Consumer Rights Act 2015) that cannot be excluded. Nothing in these terms affects those non-excludable statutory rights, and these terms apply only to the extent consistent with them.

Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for, and to hold us harmless from, claims and losses arising out of your misuse of KDP Metric, your breach of these terms, or content you publish — except to the extent caused by us. This does not limit your statutory rights as a consumer.

Governing law & where claims are brought

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. However, if you are a consumer, you keep the benefit of any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, and you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in your local courts where the law of your country gives you that right. Nothing here deprives an EU, UK or other consumer of protections that cannot be derogated from by agreement.

Severability & waiver

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of it.

Entire agreement & assignment

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us about KDP Metric. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation; this will not affect your rights. You may not transfer yours without our consent.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "last updated" date above, and material changes will be made clear. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
